Financial Condition of CCOC PDF Print E-mail

Our initial phase has been funded by a small group of individuals as a public service.  In due time, CCOC will be incorporated as a Social Profit Company (i.e. non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation).  Thus, to date, there is no applicable budget on income/expense reports.

In the future, when incorporated, individuals will have the opportunity to contribute resources.  Currently, contributions of time and services are welcome.  We hope to maintain the current status that does not require membership fees.

Giving Forward

Whenever I hear someone talking about “giving back” to the community, my stomach tightens up.  Why?  I guess that it sounds like guilt - “I’ve received something good that I may not deserve; therefore, I need to give back.”  Yet, giving back is still better than not giving.

I like the concept of giving forward.  Repeatedly, I hear people say, “the more I give, the more I receive.”  And such is confirmed by the many spiritual traditions.  One of which says that if we are not giving, it is like being a thief onto oneself. Many of us have been inspired by Nipun Mehta’s story of providing services at no cost.  Click here to hear more www.charityfocus.org.

Thus, I encourage each of us, as we expand our lives, to find a cause and support it with both our time and our resources.
